Iran exported $100 million worth of computer softwares to the different world countries last year, an Iranian official announced on Saturday, asking Iranian software designers and producers to boost activity and exports to other countries.
"Around $100 mln worth of software was exported from Iran in the last (Iranian) year (ended on March 20)," Director of the Information Technology and Digital Media Promotion Center of Iran's Culture and Islamic Guidance Ministry Esa Zare'pour said addressing the inauguration ceremony of the first exhibition of Iran's digital media in the northern city of Semnan today.
The official asked the Iranian software makers and companies to boost activity and exports to the other countries, reminding that the value of international trade in the software market currently stands at $800 bln.
Zare'pour also said that there are around 30 million internet users inside Iran, and stated that establishment of a center for the promotion of digital technology and media is on the agenda of the Culture and Islamic Guidance Ministry.
He also announced that Iran plans to hold an international exhibition on digital medias in October.
